Fun & Dangerous: My Father’s Place Revisited
Just down the road from CW Post’s campus, under the Northern Boulevard viaduct in Roslyn, a tiny night club was the premier venue for original Long Island music and essential tour national artists. My Father’s Place (1971 – 1987) presented the leading music and comedy acts of the era – Springsteen, The Police, U2, James Brown, Peter Tosh, Hall& Oates, Aerosmith, The Ramones and thousands of others – performed from the stage of a former bowling alley and saloon.
"Taking Care of Business" host Richard Solomon recently interviewed Steve Rosenfield, the co-author of Fun & Dangerous: Untold Tales, Unseen Photos & Unearthed Music from My Father’s Place. Steve was 16 years old in 1975 and became the house photographer for the club. The book and CD of live music celebrate the club’s golden era and recent induction into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
